Study Mobility

Erasmus+ supports student exchanges at all levels of study — Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral — both within Erasmus+ Programme Countries and between Programme and Partner Countries. Students can take part in mobility activities for 2–12 months per study cycle.

At AUB Mediterraneo, participating in Erasmus+ means enriching your education with valuable international experience — without the burden of extra tuition abroad. You continue paying only your regular fees at AUB Mediterraneo, while the Erasmus Grant helps cover accommodation, daily living costs and travel expenses.

Studies or traineeship abroad will be recognised through the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), ensuring a smooth transition between institutions. All mobility activities are built on transparent agreements between sending and hosting organisations.

Needed documentation for participation

Implementing an Erasmus mobility activity demands thorough documentation before, during, and after the activity, to ensure its successful execution and funding:

  1. After the final selection of participants, follow the host university’s procedures, including completing the Student Application Form and the Learning Agreement. An official Transcript of Records must also be submitted.
  2. The host universities review applications, approve candidates, and sign the Learning Agreement.
  3. Once approved (Application Form + Learning Agreement signed and Letter of Acceptance issued), the student must sign the official Grant Agreement to receive funding.
  4. After the contract is signed, the AUB Mediterraneo Erasmus+ Office coordinates with the Finance Department to process the first installment of the grant to the student’s personal bank account (bank transfer fees outside Cyprus are the student’s responsibility).
  5. Students are responsible for arranging accommodation in the host country. Housing information is typically provided with the Letter of Acceptance.
  6. Course selection is done with Erasmus+ Coordinators and the relevant Deans before completing the Learning Agreement. It becomes valid after signatures from both sending and receiving institutions.
  7. If course changes are needed after arrival, seek approval from the Erasmus+ Office. A revised Learning Agreement must then be signed by both institutions.
  8. Upon returning to Cyprus, academic performance (grades and credits earned abroad) is communicated to the Erasmus+ Office for recognition and credit transfer.

Students must also submit the following to the Mobility Office upon their return:

  • Certificate of Attendance issued by the Host University
  • Study Report (completed and signed by the student)
  • Grant Receipt Form (signed by the student)
  • All versions of the Learning Agreement (before, during, and after mobility)
  • Detailed course descriptions for recognition purposes

Health and Life Insurance

We highly recommend that all students obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) prior to their arrival in Cyprus, as it provides access to the same medical treatment available to local residents. More information about the EHIC can be found at: ec.europa.eu/social.

Please note that some universities may also require students to have life insurance. If this applies to you, it is essential that you comply with the requirements set by your home institution.
