Dr. Bacel Maddah obtained his PhD (2005) from Virginia Tech in industrial and systems engineering. His research has been published in leading journals in the field of operations research. He is an associate editor for International Transactions in Operational Research and a member of the editorial board for International Journal of Planning and Scheduling. Maddah has practical experience as a senior analyst with United Airlines and Hannaford Bros. He has been providing consulting and training to industry on relevant topics. His research interests are in retailing, supply chain management, logistics, and other problems involving decision making under uncertainty. He is currently teaching courses in operations management at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo).
